Premiere: Sophie Ellis-Bextor - True Faith (New Order Cover)

New Order's brilliant 1987 single and video True Faith are iconic pieces of music and visuals. There's joy and darkness intertwined and under the goofy and catchy surface lies painful truths about hard drug dependency. Bernard Sumner's voice is truly magical and the way he delivers the lyrics with such an icy cool is beyond good. That brings us to another singer famed for her coolness. Sophie Ellis-Bextor covers this classic for the album project Sound of the 80's and we can see this becoming a live favourite by her fans. The amazing bassline really hits home and imagine this rumble away at a large venue with those strings coming in. It's hard to cover perfection, but SE-B gives it a good try at least! Listen below! Premiere: Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Young Blood

Sophie Ellis-Bextor takes it down a few notches and makes a most welcome return with Young Blood, the lead single to upcoming album Wanderlust. We must say we love this change of direction. This organic and understated sound really suits her voice and makes for a fresh start. The gorgeous strings and warm piano elevates the song and when the choir kicks in we swear we're in an idyllic postcard of some sorts, haha. The video is simple and elegant with it's retro theme. Not to mention how stunning Sophie looks with this kind of styling. Welcome home, and welcome back! Wanderlust is out on January 20th 2014.   

Bob Sinclar Feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Fuck With You

On a night out with drinks and clubbing obviously subtleties head out the window at some point. That's something that Bob Sinclar and Sophie Ellis-Bextor seem to deeply understand as their collaboration is called Fuck With You - complete with Sophie hatching a plan and doesn't care if the dude has a girlfriend. Not to mention the rap about Imma fuck you, then fuck your friend. It's not even 9am here and we're having morning coffee singing I wanna fuck with you-u-u. A very good sign! Kudos to SE-B for stepping out and getting a bit dirty, looking forward to seeing her perform this live!
