Goldfrapp - Melancholy Sky - Studio Version

We first heard Melancholy Sky during The Little Noise sessions in late November last year - and here is the studio version! Taken from their singles collection The Singles out February 6th, marking the end with their label. It reminds us of an 1970's epic film theme with its dramatic strings and live feel. Do you think this is a worthy end to Goldfrapp's time with Mute/Parlophone?

Goldfrapp - Yellow Halo - Video Premiere!

Goldfrapp are saying goodbye to their label Mute Records by releasing The Singles - you guess it, a collection of their singles on February 6th next year. Two new tracks will be featured - Melancholy Sky and this one Yellow Halo. Great to hear 'frapp heading back to their original unique sound with this one. Nice way to round off more than a decade on the same label. We're so intrigued what the future holds for them. The video is filmed entirely on an iPhone 4 by Alison's girlfriend Lisa Gunning, when on tour in South America. Cute and very low key. No massive budget needed! Alison could pay with nature's credit card, hehe. Have a listen/look below! Thoughts?

Goldfrapp - Melancholy Sky - New Track!

We've been seeing on Twitter all week Alison Goldfrapp tweeting about rehearsing in Will's garage and here's the reason. The Little Noise Sessions is a series of acoustic charity concerts held annually at the Union Chapel in London, curated by Jo Whiley. We've been waiting to hear some new material and we got what we wished for. Melancholy Sky follows the vain of 2000's Felt Mountain and 2008's Seventh Tree - very cinematic and otherworldly. Love Alison in that dress and hair style. Huge switch from Head First's 80's throw back. Thoughts?

Lady GaGa - Judas (Goldfrapp Remix)

Wow, GaGa is not messing around with the release of Judas and Born This Way. Really pulling out ALL the stops to get the fans to download. This morning we posted the Hurts remix, now it's time for Goldfrapp! It makes sense as they've done remixes for both Depeche Mode and Marilyn Manson in the past. Wow, Alison and Will have really pitched the vocals making this an eerie treatment full of dark secrets and sounds. Hellish...

Goldfrapp - Live in Copenhagen

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of heading to the Goldfrapp concert @ Vega in Copenhagen. It's an intimate place and with the minimalistic stage setting it became a really fun show, it felt sort of like a private gig for some friends. Alison came on stage with her band (no Will) and tore through their catalouge with the speed of light, focusing on latest album Head First. An hour later they left as quickly as they came, leaving us wanting more, and that felt like a good thing for sure.   Head First as a concept made total sense when played live, the whole place was dancing. Sweet! Take a look at Alive below as filmed by us. For more images click here.
