El Perro Del Mar - Walk On By - Video Premiere

Sarah Assbring a.ka. El Perro Del Mar jumps head first into the 90's in her video to Walk On By. It's an exquisite song hitting all the right notes. Melancholic, with a terribly good groove and a sense of being incredibly strong for the right reasons. Talk about bittersweet lyrics! The video is an orgy in lo-fi images with oversaturated colours and fast cutting - as found on MTV in the early 90's. Even her striped fully buttoned shirt looks like it came off the Chanel 1993 runway! Her upcoming album Pale Fire is out November 12th on brand new Swedish label Ingrid and we cannot wait that long we thinks! Enough with tormenting us Sarah! We neeeed your new album! Enjoy the new video below!

"In this world, you think you have no reason to believe in love or in anything much. Then one day, when you least expect it, a light appears on the far horizon. It's a flickering light, begging you to come, telling you to stay away. It's the pale fire. The promise of love and hope - all consuming and elusive. Yet for a moment, it brings clarity in the darkness, future to the ruins and power to the fight." - El Perro Del Mar

El Perro Del Mar - Walk On By - Premiere

Sarah Assbring a.k.a El Perro Del Mar is one of those rare people that get us all giddy just from the thought of hearing new material from. When we saw this new track we knew even before hitting play we'd love it! And we were right! Walk On By in an exquisite song hitting all the right notes. Melancholic, with a terribly good groove and a sense of being incredibly strong for the right reasons. Oh Sarah! We love you and your art! Her upcoming album Pale Fire is out November 12th on the brand new Swedish Ingrid label and we cannot wait. What she's saying about it has us so curious what it'll sound like. Just an hour ago we said the VERY SAME THING to two friends about the state of the world as it is right now. Enjoy! Click here for more EPDM material!

El Perro Del Mar - Innocence is Sense

Words cannot fully express how excited we are about new music from Sara Assbring aka El Perro Del Mar. Last we heard from our fellow Swede was last September when she did What Do You Expect based on newscasts from the London riots. She's continued with the more electro based sound on Innocence is Sense - it reminds us of horror films and Kate Bush with a twist of The Knife. The video is equally horror referential to us with Sara alone in a hotel room, old notes about fire burning and then the fire comes closer. Fitting as her upcoming album will be called Pale Fire! Her 2009 album Love Is Not Pop we hold dear to our heart so it'll be amazing hearing the new one later in the year. Click here for earlier posts about Sara! Thoughts?

...and here's the download! Enjoy!

El Perro Del Mar - What Do You Expect - Premiere!

Oh gawd, so much new excellent music lately! Our beloved Swede El Perro Del Mar is back with What Do You Expect, and she's gone political! What Do You Expect is influenced by this summer's UK riots. In a brief message, she explains her reasoning behind creating this broadcast-news-sampling dance tune.

"Around the time of the riots flaring across the UK, I was wrapped up in work on an album which in many ways is about living in a time where there's little hope, little future and what times like these do to people. I felt I needed to say something about the incidents since I feel they speak volumes not only of one society in specific but about the society and time we live in at large."

This is a very unexpected sound for the sea dog and we really like this minimalistic track with its political agenda. Listen below! The album Pale Fire is out sometime in 2012, cannot wait!
