Free Download: Everything But The Girl - Missing (Electronika Remix)

Everything But The Girl's legedary 1994/1995 Missing super hit is truly one for the ages and comes with a fantastic backstory. The original acoustic mix was released in August ´94 as the second single from Amplified Heart and didn't create much buzz - the duo were already on shaky grounds with their label after not generating enough sales. In October '95 the now iconic Todd Terry remix saw the light of day, and around the same time EBTG were dropped by their Blanco Y Negro label. When the remix turned out to be a SMASH the label panicked as they had the rights to the song but not the duo anymore. And since it reached the top of most charts it made sure that Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt saw a massive surge in sales from all previous releases (8 studio albums) and found a whole new electronic sound and fan base. LOVE! Russian four piece production team Electronika has created a truly badass bootleg remix that sees the original sounds paired with irresistible new ones. The groove is so deep and infectious and sounds lovely with Tracey's wistful original vocals. The electronic elements are just stunning and sound amazingly well against the '94 and '95 productions. A true gem to find, and uploaded just one day ago! It's a win, win, win all the way + a free download. Enjoooooy!

Free Download: The Human League - Don't You Want Me (N.E.R.Y. & L.O.O.P Bootleg Remix)

The Human League's fantastic 1981 blockbuster hit Don't You Want Me is one of the most easily recognizable songs from the 1980's. It defined an era for sure, but it wasn't full steam ahead from the beginning. Producer Martin Rushent was hired by the label, Virgin, and rejected the harder sounding demos. He created a more commercial album mix that front man Phil Oakey hated and wouldn't stand behind. As a result it was put as the closing track on their landmark album Dare. It wasn't considered single material until it was time for a fourth single and Oakey wouldn't have it as he feared a disaster but buckled under the label pressure. The rest is history - it was a runaway hit topping the charts in both the UK and US plus Canada, Norway and Ireland + was the Christmas #1 in their native UK. The video was a key moment too for the band as it grew popular in a time when that format was still on the early rise. It's one of our all time favourite tracks with it's amazing storyline, flawless vocals, iconic synth and perfect production and never get tired of it. Now, Brazilian producers N.E.R.Y. & L.O.O.P have created a stunning bootleg filled with original sounds + the legendary vocals and then added a contemporary deep house feel. That new bassline is really awesome with it's big sound and makes it impossible to sit still. When the buildup comes we already see people going at it like crazy in a darkly lit nightclub! This could easily be played in a real THL concert so kudos to the duo for creating a really cool mix. Enjoy + download belooow! Free Download: Whitney Houston - It's Not Right but It's Okay (Bird Peterson Remix)

Whitney Houston's 1998 album My Love Is Your Love is easily our favourite from her catalogue. Recorded quite quickly over 6 weeks it sounded (and still does) mad contemporary, funky, amazingly diverse and effortless. Love! Its crowning glory, for us, is the stellar super diss It's Not Right but It's Okay. Whitney's insanely perfect vocals, which earned her a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, paired with the tight and easily recognizable Darkchild production from Rodney Jerkins is a dream. Now, Austin based amazing producer Bird Peterson has put a new spin on it and takes the track down a darker route. This new take is more sinister and brooding for sure. The bassline rumbles and really shakes the sentiment of those iconic vocals up! We would not want to be that cheating rat, that's for sure! Stream below, download here

Free Download: Madonna - Frozen (FKA twigs' LP1 Style)

Wow, love this! Amazing! FKA twigs has with her debut album LP1 quickly established her as a sonic explorer and innovator. Her sound is distinct for her 100% with deep basslines, soaring high vocals paired with down pitched ones. It's suggestive and deeply transfixing to say the least. When Madonna released Frozen in 1998 she transformed herselfoth with a brand new electronic sound. M and Patrick Leonard's amazing lament paired with William Orbit's stellar co-production and Craig Armstrong's string arrangement (and not forgetting Chris Cunningham's video) truly is one for the ages. Now Spanish producer Álvaro Estévez Delgado has created an amazing alternate universe where Madonna's classic becomes an FKA styled production. We love it - a lot! Everything is here, the changed vocal pitch both ways, the dramatic and minimalistic background with the icy strings intact. You only see what your eyes want to see is chanted over and over and really embeds the message of the song in one single sentence. Imagine a real FKA MDNA collaboration with Álvaro, William etc, etc naturally! Too damn good. Thoughts?

Stream: José González - Stay Alive (Sam Feldt & Chris Meid Remix)

Amazing José González is releasing his third album Vestiges & Claws in February '15, his first since 2007! Finally! Luckily he's been regularly featured in different projects, like Stay Alive from the OST to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty last year and of course this absolute gem from earlier this year. The former gets treated to a **tropical** holiday in the hands of DJ buddies Sam Feldt and Chris Meid. The dramatic and acoustic original turns into a breezy, warm and piña colada filled vacation with synthetic steel drums and a killer saxophone solo! Pretty much all you need if you make a drink right now to go with. Enjoy!
