Free Download: The Human League - Don't You Want Me (N.E.R.Y. & L.O.O.P Bootleg Remix)

The Human League's fantastic 1981 blockbuster hit Don't You Want Me is one of the most easily recognizable songs from the 1980's. It defined an era for sure, but it wasn't full steam ahead from the beginning. Producer Martin Rushent was hired by the label, Virgin, and rejected the harder sounding demos. He created a more commercial album mix that front man Phil Oakey hated and wouldn't stand behind. As a result it was put as the closing track on their landmark album Dare. It wasn't considered single material until it was time for a fourth single and Oakey wouldn't have it as he feared a disaster but buckled under the label pressure. The rest is history - it was a runaway hit topping the charts in both the UK and US plus Canada, Norway and Ireland + was the Christmas #1 in their native UK. The video was a key moment too for the band as it grew popular in a time when that format was still on the early rise. It's one of our all time favourite tracks with it's amazing storyline, flawless vocals, iconic synth and perfect production and never get tired of it. Now, Brazilian producers N.E.R.Y. & L.O.O.P have created a stunning bootleg filled with original sounds + the legendary vocals and then added a contemporary deep house feel. That new bassline is really awesome with it's big sound and makes it impossible to sit still. When the buildup comes we already see people going at it like crazy in a darkly lit nightclub! This could easily be played in a real THL concert so kudos to the duo for creating a really cool mix. Enjoy + download belooow!
