Katy Perry's new single E.T is the 4th consecutive Billboard Hot 100 #1 from her album Teenage Dream. That's major! The video for it just premiered and we really like it. So nice to see a bit darker side of her.
Peter, Bjorn and John's new album Gimme Some is out nooow, and getting excellent reviews! Click here for a free download of the bangin' RAC remix of Second Chance. For the video click heeere. We found out this week that one of our readers is Peter's relative from Dalarna. Sweet!
Britney released her 7th album Femme Fatale this week and headed to the Castro district in San Fransisco for a GMA special. She has a place in popculture for sure, and people love her. But WTH, we wouldn't call whatever is below for genuine performances. Bar some bits that sounds off key in Hold It Against Me her vocals are recorded and so processed. And her dancing is really wooden. We've never been huge fans, but we think Britney deserves better than to be wheeled out every other year for a tour because she's a massive money maker. What's upp with all those wide shots as well? What are they hiding? Check out HIAM, Till The World Ends and Big Fat Bass below.
Hollywood icon and giant of the Hollywood Golden Age, Elizabeth Taylor died of heart failure on March 23rd. We're writing this from London, the city she was born in, and for a few years we were based in Los Angeles and there Dame Elizabeth and ourselves shared The Abbey in West Hollywood as the place to be. (We lived just by it.) She had a standing reservation, with an oil painting of her on the wall next to her table, and went there once a week. Hot! Regardless of her iconic status as a celebrity we're thinking of the human rights activist Elizabeth. A person who took the fame she didn't like in the first place and used it as a vessel to educate people, raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and generate funds for research. Below is the clip when Elizabeth accepted the Vanguard Award at the 11th annual GLAAD Media Awards in 2000. That is one kickass lady and some speech! Rest in peace and hot damn; It's all about love you know!
Tove Styrke drops the video to the new single High and Low, and we're loving the simplistic black & white theme. It's great to see Tove not playing it safe and instead opting for an edgier look. It suits her! The 2011 remake is so much hotter than the album version too!
