Premiere: Lady GaGa - Applause

Lady GaGa has seen her Applause leak in snippets over the weekend and here, finally, is the full version. This marks the official musical start to the Artpop era and you can bet your money on her fanbase going absolutely mental right now. Applause is a celebration of pop culture and and what fame does to you. We'll be back with a more nuanced review in a bit, haha. First thoughts? Update: Alright, with a few hours distance and plays we must say we like it. It's catchy and lighthearted with a sound that ushers in a new LG era. Her voice is quite raw and the chorus soars like a good pop hook should. By no means will this road map any unknown music territory but as a live staple this will drive her fans wild, plus it's nice to hear her heading back to some of the fun and flirtiness from The Fame days. Looks like a messy and fun night at the classic hangout Micky's in West Hollywood.
