Premiere: Kill J - You're Good, But I'm Better (Sad Money Remix)

Copenhagen's lucky having a badass like Kill J calling it home. Her ode to unreciprocated love, You're Good, But I'm Better just got a sick remix from Sad Money. The change in vocal pitch transforms the darkness into a brighter mood. It's kinda like when the hurting makes you wanna go out and have fun with friends. Ain't nobody got time to sit around waiting for someone to love ya back! For the .mp3 click here

Premiere: KIll J - Barbie Girl (Aqua Cover)

For the sequel to Blade Runner Ridley Scott really should consider KIll J's cover of Aqua's monster hit Barbie Girl. The kitschy original was written as a social commentary by the Norwegian/Danish group and this cover extends it even further. The sunny approach is removed and replaced with a dystopian outlook. Gone are the summer days - hello eternal acid rain and shiny neon lights doubling as daylight. Really nice take by this Copenhagen wonder! She'd be perfect as a replicant in the Blade Runner movie, too. Imagine this playing in a bar scene and then KIll goes in for the kill. Imagination, life is your creation...

Premiere: Kill J - You're Good But I'm Better

The struggle is very much real if you love someone and it's not mutual. It doesn't matter who you are - it'll happen. Of this kickass Copenhagener Kill J is very much aware. At least she got an ace new single out of it! You're Good But I'm Better is filled with her perfect and distinct vocal delivery front and center backed with a killer production. The beat reminds of an retro 8-bit game paired with a somehow blues realness. It's perhaps how Billie Holiday would've sounded had she lived now. Top marks!

Premiere: KIll J - Propaganda

Um, someone didn't get the memo that you do not mess with Denmark's finest KIll J! Listen to this:

"Someone once told me:
You will never make it in the business.
You´ve got no fuckability
– too much opinion

I wrote a song about it…"

Maybe we should send that person some black roses 'cuz the resulting song - Propaganda is sick as f**k and makes us wanna head to a Berlin club, rub tequila on our nipples and dance all night to this ish. Also, how awesome that KIll J is back with a killer track that's spittin' fire - we need mooooore!

Introducing: KIll J - Phoenix

If Twin Peaks was to be set in space, new Danish act KIll J would certainly be the resident singer at The Roadhouse. Her debut Phoenix stirs the pot with R&B flirting bass and hand claps and influences from Middle Eastern music. Her wonderful and distinct voice is layered and whispery in parts, that insane and distinct shaky effect is so cool! If iamamiwhoami and Yo-Landi Vi$$er were related and had a sister we have a feeling KIll J would be THE ONE. Listen to the hypnotic mix below! Thoughts?
