New James Blake releases always feels like events. He's truly unique and ya never know what new material will sound like. Modern Soul is wonderfully disjointed and cohesive all at once - just like how we like our Blake. It's a lil' retro soul + gospel mixed with a future gaze and avant garde approach. Too nice! PLUS THAT VOICE - so amazing!

Digital Lion created with ambient master Brian Eno sees that wonderful dissonance grow even further and the title says it all; organic matter and shiny futuristic technology fuse together forming its own universe. It's a must listen this week!

Electronic singer/songwriter James Blake is back with Retrograde - the first single from sophomore album Overgrown, out on April 8th. As always with James there is something really endearing and lovely but with sharp jagged edges. The dissonance really shines on Retrograde - the experience leaves us a bit shaken and wanting more. James Blake - Limit To Your Love (Feist Cover) - Sound of 2011

We've had James Blake's cover of Feist's The Limit To Your Love, titled just Limit To Your Love on our radar for quite some time. But as we OD'd on Feist's album The Reminder in 2007, and especially this beautiful and incredibly sad song we kinda never connected with this version. Until now. Something clicked. James' voice fits the lyrics perfectly and the production is flawless. The lyrics are so sad! There's a limit to your care/Is it truth or dare?/Like a map with no ocean.
