House of Wallenberg Feat. Octavia St. Laurent - Be Somebody - Video Premiere

House of Wallenberg continues their hit streak with the Octavia St. Laurent collaboration Be Somebody - an odyssey further into the realm of shimmering lights and moving bodies. Sadly Octavia passed away in 2009, years before this project was to be released. Hearing her vocals and the iconic sample from her Paris Is Burning interview is amazing and mind blowing. Why she wasn't a massive house diva in the early 90's we'll never know. The music production is awesome and the hard dance beat paired with the lone violin creates a truly wonderful atmosphere tinged with sadness. To honor the memory of Octavia the famous Vogue houses of New York came together to create the video. Shot in a deep black & white we get striking images - both looking to the future and acknowledging what once was in one go. The single is out now, and the Part ll mix features legendary Neneh Cherry! Enjoy!      

House of Wallenberg Feat. Jwl B of Yo Majesty - Be My Lover - Video Premiere

Ooo, that House of Wallenberg really knows how to werque it and possibly twerk it as well. Nice! Be My Lover is a hot new track and features the amazing Jwl B of legendary duo Yo Majesty! Argh. Gotta love that house piano, retro bassline and tight vocals + the warm sunny appeal of it all when combined. The video, filmed in Tokyo, is equally as fun and flirty. The pro footage is intercepted with some lovely n' casual street takes and the diverse group of people is really wonderful to watch. The perfect start to the weekend! Enjoy below! House of Wallenberg Feat. Ari Up - Sunshine Taboo - International Release

Living here in paradise I want you to be free. We first wrote about Sunshine Taboo back in August of last year, and a lot of things has happened. Since then the House of Wallenberg were one of the driving forces behind stopping Jamaican artist Sizzla from performing in Stockholm - due to his lyrical content that promotes murder of LGBTQ's based on their sexuality. Activism at its finest, and beyond amazing. Because of that it's more than fitting that today marks the international release of the single! It's a collaboration with punk legend and The Slits front woman Ari Up - the track is a worry for Ari's son who came out when he was 16 as gay when they lived in Jamaica. (For those not aware, Jamaica is considered as the most homophobic place on earth.) Sadly, Ari passed away from cancer in October last year. Petter Wallenberg told Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet that Jamaica was Ari's paradise, but became the opposite for her son - the song tells the story of a sunny paradise and the hell that grows in its shadows. The beat reminds us of Sade, Culture Club and Ace of Base all wrapped into a sweet punky caramel. The vinyl is out today on Permanent Vacation and can be purchased here. iTunes carries it too! 

Life is way too precious and short to ever promote hate and violence - the idea of promoting murder is beyond comprehension. We all need to stand up for love, compassion and acceptance of people's sexuality at all times. Always!
