Premiere: Kelis - Been Given A Morning

Ten years and a month almost to the day after the instantly iconic Milkshake we get to experience a brand new side of usually rowdy Kelis. The tender Been Given A Morning is truly beautiful and her husky voice over the grand piano, strings and trumpet evokes a full on jazz lounge feel. Wow! The electronic dissonance two thirds in makes for interesting shock value. The soft, sweet and mellow sound is destroyed and we can't help to think that's sort of how life is sometimes. Her upcoming album is called F.O.O.D and is out mid February next year. Her last song from this project was Jerk Ribs so we're thinking the album's gonna have a foody theme?! Enjoy below! Thoughts?
