Heavenly new track from Swedish Gothenburg based duo jj! Yay! And no it's not an Ace of Base cover, haha. Love the mellow intro kicking into that groove. Lovely! Listen and download Beautiful Life belooow!
Norway's finest, Ane Brun, is releasing her incredible album It All Starts With One in the US on May 1st. On the deluxe iTunes version comes this gem, her cover of Arcade Fire's beautiful Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels). We absolutley love it when she covers other people's songs. Her versions of True Colors, Big In Japan and Jóga are brilliant. Neighborhood becomes a lullaby and it's so soothing to hear it. Listen below and then head here for the .mp3. Also, if you wanna check out the original, do so here. Enjoy!
R u kidding us? How hot is this?! Quickly rising UK star Rita Ora just premiered her first video R.I.P and it's badass. Signed by Jay-Z and his Roc Nation + this single was written by Drake and produced by Chase & Status & Stargate, with the video shot in Hackney, London - it all equals she'll be slaying left and right. We were part of the Twitter interview with Rita last week (opening question!) and she seemed real fun, something the behind the scenes video confirms. Nice touch with Tinie on rap, hopefully he'll be on the US release! We need more of dat British accent! Have a look belooow!
From now on it should be mandatory that Helena Bonham Carter star in every artists video for their lead single releases, haha. Rufus Wainwright is back with his Mark Ronson produced album Out Of The Game and the title track is a great 70's tinged track - highlighted big time by the video. If every library and librarian was like this the world would be a better place, haha. The album is out April 23rd!
Oh snap! Madonna debuts at #1 in the US and UK this week with MDNA. Meaning she officially beats Elvis in the UK as the most successful solo artist with 12 number one albums compared to his 11. In the US she sold 359,000 copies, making that her largest opening week since Music's 420,000 in 2000. Nice! Also, she has had a bigger first week than that of Rihanna, Britney, Katy Perry, Adele and Beyoncé's recent albums. Only one bigger is Lady GaGa who sold over a million the first week of Born This Way. 400,000 of those were sold at 0.99 cents tho! It's rad that M has done excellent promotion too, as in very few but hugely effective channels such as the Super Bowl, Facebook chat and her age restricted Girl Gone Wild video. Werque! Let's celebrate by watching the remix video of the Justin Cognito mix of Girl Gone Wild. Enjoooy!
