Madonna - Borderline (Stripped Down Acoustic Mix)
Now, normally we're all for a deep bass situation. That doesn't mean we can't make exceptions, haha. One of Madonna's earliest signature songs is of course Borderline. Written and produced by Reggie Lucas in 1982 for her debut album M was unhappy with the result. She thought it had too many instruments on it and had her then boyfriend Jellybean remix it. How perfect then we came across this baby since July '13 marks 30 years since it was released. This stripped down take uses the original stems and really showcases how amazing this song really is. Yes, the production, artwork, iconic video adds to it, but the core structure is fantastic; the chords, lead vocals and backing harmonies. So simple and effective. Love to hear it like this!
