Whitney Houston 1963-2012

Music is such a powerful force. It can bring the most diverse group of people together, and for the last 30 years Whitney Houston has been front and center. No matter what situation there is always one Whitney song that fits the moment. And herself as a performer surpassed her own material. Judging by our friends and family's comments and our social media feed she had admirers in every corner in every way imaginable. From our own mom to the toughest punk rocker anarchist, to the local gospel choir - Whitney joined us together through her amazing talent. Play I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) and your heart melts and your feet start to move instantly. We saw the breaking story that Whitney was declared dead and were shocked beyond belief. Even though it was obvious she had been on a dangerous path for a long time we hoped that she somehow would pull through the darkness. Addiction and its destruction is beyond tragic regardless of who you are and Whitney is the ultimate proof. What a huge loss for music lovers. We have the back catalogue to lean against, we just wish Whitney herself was around to just rest, do some gardening and have big cups of green tea for the antioxidants. Whitney, you will be dearly missed. Your love is our love, and our love is your love.
