Premiere: Crystal Castles - Char

Crystal Castles has been rebooted with new lead singer Edith Frances and brand new material has slowly emerged for the last year. Char is a slice from the upcoming new album AMNESTY (l) which is out in August. This new era sounds more polished and less like diving into a dark pond of desperate ghouls. Mind you, we didn't think that was a bad thing, haha. But the new style sounds good and we can imagine this appealing to the old fan base as well as expanding it. Listen belooow! Thoughts?

Crystal Castles silky smooth Affection gets amped up slightly by fellow Canadian Tarantula X and the result is both cozy and terrifying. As it should be just before bedtime, haha! Filtered synths, pitched vocals and muffled mumbling all make for glorious listening. Also, those hand claps paired with synths that sound like insects! Go grab it belooow!

A gorgeous gift of warmth and kindness that seduces us completely. Love the understated vocals from Alice Glass. And as always Ethan Kath's production is flawless. So pretty - that's major! Their new album (lll) has been pushed back to November 12 and we officially cannot wait!

Crystal Castles - Wrath Of God - Free Download

After the major releases we've had this week it's definitely time for a palate cleanser. We can't think of a better one than feeling the Wrath of God as channeled by Crystal Castles. Their characteristic 8-bit beats and ungodly hollering rubs us in all the right places. No wonder God is angry! Especially since they're giving it away for free too! Spread the dark love... Crystal Castles - Plague - Free Download

Only Crystal Castles could make us contemplate listening to nightmarish schrieks past midnight and get all giddy and excited for it. Will we sleep tonight we wonder? In Plague we get intricate rave beats from Ethan Kath and Alice Glass shouts she's the plague. Good to know... Not to mention the hellish breather around 03:19.
