The Times of Harvey Milk
For those of you who saw and got moved by the film about Harvey Milk I can highly recommend the Oscar winning 1984 documentary The Times of Harvey Milk. For those of you in the US, you can rent it on iTunes for $2.99. And the rest of you lot can order it on Amazon or download it here. We were deeply moved by watching it. As it's filmed just 6 years after the horrific event took place it give a whole new perspective to the story. The interviewed colleagues and friends of Harvey struggle in front of the camera to keep their tears away. And just the thought that Dan White was still alive sends chills down our spine. Harvey Milk said If a bullet should enter my brain, let the bullet destroy every closet door. He was and still is a true inspiration to keep on living and fighting for equal rights and for those less fortunate who do not have a voice of their own.
