The xx - Chained - Video Premiere

One of our favourite tracks from The xx new album Coexist just got visuals to it - and they are mesmerizing. In Chained we get some truly gorgeous yet claustrophobic shots of the band in slow motion submerged in water. Could not be more fitting for the lyrics we say. Love the contrast of the sky paired with the shots above the water w the shadows underneath. Wonderful and poignant.

Winged or chained.
I ask you would you have stayed.
Did I hold you too tight?
Did I not let enough light in?

Holy Ghost! - It Gets Dark - Premiere

...and we can all sleep a bit sounder tonight knowing that there is one less problem in the world. Brooklyn's finest Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel a.k.a Holy Ghost! have just released It Gets Dark - the first taster from their 2013 album! We can already picture all the shenanigans that will take place with this as the soundtrack this coming weekend. The bassline, the groove, the dark, the breathy & slightly mumbling verses and soaring chorus, it all. Listen below! Thoughts? If the end is near it sure has a sweet soundtrack to dance to!

Bat For Lashes - The Haunted Man - Full Album Stream

Start playing Bat For Lashes new album The Haunted Man and you enter a parallel dimension full of lights orbiting around you. You wander and walk into a forest, creaking sounds, trees electrified giving off a strange glow. There in the middle you see a creature sitting alone in a dark corner singing by a piano. Other voices rush towards you and you see a house with a party inside. This was what came to mind when we first listened to the album in full. If you like us have played Laura, Marilyn and All Your Gold to pieces already it's immensely intriguing to hear them in this setting. We're absolutely mad for Oh Yeah that leads up to Laura. Its electro beat and drum machine is like a forest path leading up to the magical piano. Album opener Lilies is equally rushing, just to mention a few, with Natasha crying out Thank God I'm Alive! over a soaring horn section and gorgeous strings. It's such a treat to hear her voice, choirs, shimmering electro, 18th centrury references and the grace that binds it all together. Sky Ferreira - Ghost EP - Full Stream

Sky Ferreira's Ghost EP comes out the 16th ahead of debut album I'm Not Alright later in the year. We're blown away by opener Sad Dream. That one alone is worth buying the EP for! It reminds us of Carla Bruni and Charlotte Gainsbourg - how perfect is that? Amazing. We so prefer her acoustic material to the electro pop for sure. It feels more real and her voice seems more sincere for some reason. This taster got us real curious for the album. Enjoy! Thoughts?

El Perro Del Mar - Walk On By (W. Pontonen Remix)

El Perro Del Mar dropped the video to her excellent single Walk On By this week - and here comes some more goodies! Pontus Winnberg of Miike Snow twists and turns the alredy perfect song steeping it further into the realm of the 90's. We hear distinct Massive Attack influences in the drums and icy strings paired with the scratching for instance. Nice! Enjoy below! The album Pale Fire is out November 12th on new Swedish label Ingrid, and it's already getting rave reviews!
